As some of you college football enthusiasts know, tomorrow is National Signing Day, the earliest day for which recruits can sign Letters of Intent to enroll at their respective universities. Most kids get it out of the way tomorrow. I'll be doing a live blog of updates with a modicum on analysis on who wins, who loses, etc.
Bottom line, if you have no interest in stalking the activities of 17 and 18 year old boys, I suggest you skip tomorrow. Recruiting is one of the more niche activities we could blog about, so I figured I'd give fair warning.

Charlie Weis Allegedly Out in South Bend
Posted by Iroquois Plisken
Cheeseburger Chuck is no longer the Burger King in South Bend, reports say. After leaving a storied Patriots championship run, as soon as the opportunity to lead his alma mater to glory, Weis took a Johnny Rocket out of town and left for the greener pastures of Indiana. Despite putting forth their best efforts, the late Rally's this year just weren't enough to save Big Boy's job. The meeting has yet to take place formally, but many expect the meeting to move at a Sonic speed. Weis will likely be In-n-Out of the office only long enough to grab his belongings.
AD Jack Swarbrick released an unofficial statement about the firing, stating, "Wendy's coaches, dey be comin' in and promising great things but only producing Checkered results, that's Hardee the image we are tryin' to project. Mr. Weis' record was the worst of the last Five Guys to coach here. At Notre Dame we don't ask for much. We just want a guy to walk into our White Castle and return us to prominence with the capture of the Krystal trophy."
Swarbrick also included a quip how Weis's replacement would tend closer to the Irish part of their team. A man named McDonald has been mentioned as a leading candidate.
Also, as a programming note, I will be taking an 11 day hiatus from the site to focus on my finals. See you folks again on the 10th of December.

Programming note
Thanksgiving week is upon us. This means overeating, oversleeping, reverting back to an undergraduate student for a weekend (for two of us) and less than ample time to sit down with you fine people.
Monday will feature at least two posts (including our almost famous CFB wrap-up), Tuesday might find two and Wednesday will have one. But posting from Thursday to Sunday will be spotty at best.
Just remember that although our blog is a floating beacon of sanity in a sea of indecency and craziness, sometimes you must go visit and be with your family (the ones who create said sea of indecency and craziness). Monday, November 30th will see us back to fully operational status.
Thanks for your support, and enjoy this video. It may be the best bit of ad-libbing you will ever see in your life.
Early Happy Thanksgiving, folks.

Important Announcement from Your New Insect Overlords
As we at PLS have tried to convey, we are people, too. People who do stuff, sometimes. We like sports. We like food. We don't like obligations. We also hate pants. However, our post-grad work has begun to pick up, and as such, we've altered things a bit to bring all y'all your content more effectively.
Starting today, Iroquois (that's me) will be posting on Monday and Thursday. Your fearless leader Slate will be posting on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Fridays will be our world-renowned college football picks. Saturday is a holy day and Sunday will be for CFB wrap-up. This schedule is not preclusionary; we'll post on an 'off-day' if there's something meritorious or we feel the need (for speed?). We feel that this will allow the writers to maximize their talents that best synchs with their schedules.
What of Red Herring, his one fan asks? He'll still be around, contributing as only he can. Red, however, does not have a set schedule and will post whenever the mood strikes.
Kent Brockman, over and out.

by Slate Quicksilver
Due to a recent blitz in complete and total popularity of this blog (OK... not total) and the fact that the older generation of Quicksilver's will be visiting from Wednesday to Sunday, posting will be lighter than normal. There will still be the weekly picks. We'll be back in full force on Sunday. In the mean time, Iroquois will be blasting you with bursts of awesomeness, big words and maybe he will finally do a post on food as he plans to "bear the burden." So expect "logic" and "thoughtfulness" in doses.
We would also like to take the time to extend a thanks to everyone who has visited. We have seen a spike in readers who weren't just lost like the guy from India (we have Google analytics). Clearly he was lost as he bounced without looking at a single entry. Asshole. Food and sports crosses all barriers, even language (he was from Chennai which is not the English speaking part... again... we have GA and we are fascinated by it).
Anyway, we thank you again and remember to keep coming back as we do post and give our take on sports which we like to think is not necessarily like any other blog in the blogosphere. As we said from the start, we are just a few post grads with idle hands. Your support is welcomed, graciously accepted and it makes us feel all tingly inside. We don't expect to be huge, but we'll take our niche of people who like sports and food (there can't be many of them... right?). Keep reading and email us at potlucksports@gmail.com with suggestions, tips or vitriolic hatemail.
